Study and living conditions

  • Our postgraduate courses are traditional study courses with compulsory attendance. It is mandatory for all participants to attend classes as well as excursions that are part of the course.
  • All participants must arrange their personal and professional matters in their home country before the beginning of the course so they can take part in the course without any interruption.
  • Classes are held by experienced lecturers of the Sports Science Faculty as well as guest lecturers.
  • Lessons are translated by a qualified interpreter into the official course language (Arabic, English, French or Spanish).
  • All participants receive educational material translated into the official course language.
  • Based on the subsistence minimum as defined in § 2 (3) of the German Residence Act, participants receive a monthly allowance to cover their daily expenses and the monthly costs for accommodation, health and accidence insurance, study fees as well as a public transport ticket.
  • Health insurances taken out in the participant’s home country will not be recognized in Germany.
  • Participants are offered accommodation (twin bedrooms) at a students' hostel. Private rooms cannot be provided.
  • Accommodation for members of the participant’s family cannot be arranged.
  • Participants can have lunch at reduced prices at the canteen of the Student Administration of Leipzig University.
  • After the official end of the course, the University of Leipzig is no longer responsible for the participant’s stay. The health and accident insurance also expires with the official end of the course. After this date, participants are required to leave their room at the students' hostel.
