As part of the foreign cultural and educational policy of the German Foreign Office, the Sports Science Faculty of Leipzig University organizes postgraduate study courses for coaches and physical education teachers from developing countries (as defined by the DAC List of ODA Recipients). These 5-month courses take place twice a year and are offered in four alternating specializations and languages (English, Spanish, Arabic and French).
The International Coaching Courses (ITK) are part of the foreign cultural and educational policy of the Federal Republic of Germany, since 1991 it has been funded by the German Foreign Office. The history of the courses traces back to 1964. Since that time, more than 5500 coaches from 150 countries have participated in this measure of further education and training.
As the for 2020 scheduled on-site courses in Leipzig
had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic (new dates: 30 August 2021 – 31 January 2022), we request all applicants, who have already forwarded their application documents and who are furthermore interested in participating in the respective course, to re-confirm their interest via an informal email to itk@uni-leipzig.de by 1 March 2021.
New applications can be submitted via the German Embassy using the usual application process.
Exception: The submission of medical documents is currently waived until revoked.
